This is true in the past, but the glass ceilings are slowly fading away. Asian partners are common now.

B4 is losing people to international firms at ALL levels. Been happening for many years. And it does not happen the other way around. I don't know a single senior assoc in a top tier B4 corp team who lateralled in from an international firm.
Which dumb ass who is making bank would do that??

EP is no guarantee nowadays in big4. Hence many more willing to just wage slave at international asap for more cash immediately. Bird in hand something something. After all a cravath rated first yearers and MC juniors earn more than Big4 junior partner pay.

Meh you need to broaden your horizons (or LinkedIn stalking skills). Plenty of local uni, non-oxbridge UK unis at these firms too.

One trick is to move into comparable / peer firms if you think you’re being screened for having low academic credentials. This is why Baker has some allure - US / UK firms know the brand (even if the operate differently from the US / UK). As people burn out / move, your opportunity will come to join these stepping stones.
