This is true in the past, but the glass ceilings are slowly fading away. Asian partners are common now.

EP is no guarantee nowadays in big4. Hence many more willing to just wage slave at international asap for more cash immediately. Bird in hand something something. After all a cravath rated first yearers and MC juniors earn more than Big4 junior partner pay.

Meh you need to broaden your horizons (or LinkedIn stalking skills). Plenty of local uni, non-oxbridge UK unis at these firms too.
One trick is to move into comparable / peer firms if you think you’re being screened for having low academic credentials. This is why Baker has some allure - US / UK firms know the brand (even if the operate differently from the US / UK). As people burn out / move, your opportunity will come to join these stepping stones.

Has the other big 4 announced how closely they will be matching A&G pay increase?heard from some big 4 friends that some of the partners are managing people out so that their costs remains the same despite the pay increment.
