Honestly what is the point of people sharing/bragging about how much they would like to serve the community or how passionate they are regarding social justice issues and helping the less fortunate when they bully those who work under them and treat them like slaves

Most partners are from the boomer generation, they were the dumb students who couldn't enter engineering. So they fake it to make it, bully young lawyers to keep their rice bowl. Many times they are wrong in law and in fact but they have huge ego and are narcissists, and not admit mistakes. That is why local SME law firms are run by clowns and jokers old fogeys can't use msword properly who think they are still relevant in the digital era. Let local firms die in this covid, orbigoot!!

That's why we need people like CY to call out the hypocrisy of IR and NAS. I do not support his politics but he does keep the higher ups honest.

at which point in your uni/training did you learn to be a corporate leader/manager

the answer is at no point

so if u didnt get it

what makes u think ur boss got it

like as tho knowing the law/procedure alone makes u a good person or a corporate leader

not saying excused from being a good person, but where does that assumption even arise lmao

Nowhere in this forum did anyone assume that knowing the law means you’re a good corporate leader. Your point is therefore unfounded.

The point is, being a leader and managing employees are soft skills that people acquire through experience. Being a senior in the job, you are expected to have those skills. However, Now we aren’t even talking about being a good boss here, we are merely asking how come there is such glaring hypocrisy - where some people keep advocating about how compassionate they are to help the poor when on the other hand, they can cold-heartedly neglect the welfare of the employees they are managing. You don’t need to be a good corporate leader to have a tiny bit of compassion.

Correct. I am not a fan of him but his brashness has shown to be effective in calling these people out.
