This is a decision which I have been mulling over and it will be much appreciated if I could have some valuable insights from any of you here.
Okay can you hint to us which international? Do they have a practice of making partners?

I would say depends on practice area also. Is it really what you want to do?

Practice area is similar. Unfortunately in that particular firm, partnership is not an easy route and it will definitely take a longer time. That being said, I hope to know more insights specifically on whether let’s say a senior in house role in a bulge bracket in Hong Kong would favour a candidate who is a b4 partner or a senior associate from a US firm. Thanks!

Partner. Unless that firm is Skadden, Latham, Cravath, Weil or Gibson.

Thanks! So I guess conclusion is that sticking to partnership route in a big four is easier than staying in an associate/SA route even in MC firms.

If your end goal is (i) partnership and EP (ii) Singapore bulge bracket

If your end goal is HK BB, maybe CC is better but also debatable. Because partner > associate. International brand is but one factor

Anything lower than MC stay in B4

Not the OP but a BB in HK would obviously favour a candidate from an international firm. They don’t care if you are a partner in A&G or Tan Peng Chin.

I beg to differ. HRs in international firms or BBs have done thorough market research. I used to have a friend who works in HR in the legal industry and she knows a lot about firms and legal roles probably more than you do.

That being said, partner in b4 > senior associate in CC

Default Which RLT offer to choose

Please need help with deciding which rlt offer to take.
Both small firms, but A got better reputation than B. Not to say other pales in comparison much significantly.
If I get rlt allowance At A of much less than 1k but at B, 2k then do I only use the allowance factor to choose where to train.
Also B got prospects of becoming more high profile. So if I join now, then can be part of Future growth etc.
So how to choose as a trainee. What other factors do I consider. Thanks so much in advance.
