It depends also on your specialization as a liti lawyer, if you have one.
I went from liti to in-house at a listed European company based on specialization.

Yes, it's a higher bar... but many of us have successfully made the transition so it's certainly not impossible.

Congrats OP on getting both choices.
Original OP here - good on you. You should definitely pick NUS if you want to stay in Singapore, and LSE otherwise (or if unsure). Both are great choices but I do think, at the end of the day, they serve different functions and markets. Cost is also one factor to consider.

Can I ask at 4PQE, is it better to be an associate at an international firm or a senior associate at an FLA?

Which pays more and which gives me a better edge in terms of career progression and exit opportunities?

To add on, by International I mean a US firm/CC or Silver Circle. I’ve got an offer from one of those firms but I just got promoted to become an SA. I will have to stick with being an associate if I accept the offer.

No point defending high failure rates at Part A and low failure rates at Part B. This is inconsistent witb eradicating the incompetence you speak of. Unless, of course, there's something to hide. Last I heard from my juniors, NUS kids who took ACP also had a high failure rate. What's the other one, mediation? Whatever. Quite funny that their schoolmates come on and diss Part A on an anonymous forum.

It is notoriously easy at Part B. This is unsatisfactory. Just get some senior's NUS notes and study the day before and you expect to pass. Everyone knows, and the public should equally be protected from such incompetence.

I have met good lawyers from the degree mills you talk about and people from NUS who can't get the law right as hard as they try. So I don't really understand your stereotype. I have also gone up against people from NUS who don't know what they are doing.

Source: I also passed both on first try.
LOL you have to be a complete idiot to fail Part B, maybe they didn't belong to the elite class from NUS but yeah I agree most of my friends don't read cases, come to class late without properly preparing and just wait for handouts. There just isn't enough incentive given the papers are joke easy. Some papers just recycle the questions wholesale.

Lack of 'intellectual rigour'.

It depends if being a partner at big four is better than being a senior associate at a US firm. I cannot decide because from what I gathered the pay seems to be around the same. Being in a US firm brings more prestige internationally but then if my goal is to be a partner in let’s say a big four, I get to manage my own clients and have the final say. This is a decision which I have been mulling over and it will be much appreciated if I could have some valuable insights from any of you here.
