Uh why don't you read this article first before you shoot your mouth off. A 2.1 is supposedly awarded to kids graduating with a CWNA of B or better, which translates to a CAP of 3.5/5.0.

Not easy to score a B/B- in NUS Law? LOL NUS itself says that this criteria of 3.5/5.0 is attained by at least the top 75-78% of the cohort. Didn't know being ranked at the bottom 20-sth percent of your class is considered a mean feat. Congrats?
You from NUS Law?

For what it's worth at least KCL lawyers have opportunities to work in those MC/NY firms that NUS grads salivate over but will never get into due to their Singaporean (and soon to be worthless thanks to grade inflation) degree.

So conclusion is

If u are rich and wanna earn big bucks go kcl and don't come back.

If u are poor and happy to stay in Singapore, then go to nus.
I don't think there is any competition between these two groups.

The only problem is when the kcl ppl who can't make it overseas come back, with their first class and under perform and say local degrees are degree mills in this forum.

The only problem is when 2nd lower nus ppl who couldn't get tc complain abt 1:1 kcl being a degree mill.

But the truth is if u r gd and has connections, doesn't matter where u get ur degree from.
Peace out

At the level of int'l firms like Milbank, its the top 10% of Big 4 associates who will having a shot at lateralling in.

Doesn't matter whether you studied law in Singapore or overseas. Legal practice will eventually sieve out the truly good ones from the average ones.

And how do you define the top 10% of big four associates? What is the performance metrics?

I’m entering law sch after my Ns in two years time.

I want to know more about this honours classification system.

Why does it matter to get second upper?

If it is important, should I head to UK to secure a higher chance of getting a second upper ?

think of companies as institutions bro of course they would like to hire candidates with higher grades and degree honours is a de facto accurate indicative of your academic capabilities.

which law school are you heading to? In my opinion other than oxbridge, all 2:1 are more or less the same. (smu, nus, ucl, lse) not talking about slightly lower tier law schools (reputational wise) like durham, warwick, kcl
