Don’t think need to be affected. Let’s say if both of you were cum laude, but cos one had connections and ended up in big four while you didn’t and ended up in mid size/small.
Are you going to feel bad or inferior? No right.
I don’t think it is the firm that makes a person. Rather it is what he/she has in terms of academics that makes a difference.

I feel glad.
I get to go home on time.
They don’t.
I earn more too. They earn lesser by the hour
I could still win them in court. Big 4 is just a shell
It’s the capability within a person that matters.

Agree with this. It is the academics that makes a person. First class honours, part b commendation list, etc. will bring you a long way.

Lol. What's with this notion that going to big 4 means it's more probable than not because of connections? Anyway, for the avoidance of doubt, I'm in big 4 and my academics are average at best compared to the rest here but I do work hard and try to seize whatever opportunity I can get eg. try my luck to apply and put up the best application etc, and here I am. Not boasting or anything but it seems like there are some sour people here tbh, haha. Anyway, it's about prestige (and perhaps more $$$) but work wise I think it's also saikang to certain extent la just like everything else. OK bye just my two cents' worth!

So are you admitting you went in through connections?

I'm the same poster you quoted.
No, where did you get that idea from? If I did, why would I even mention the whole notion in the first place? I just said I tried my best to put in the best application and thankfully, it paid off. Although I must add that it's also a matter of luck and timing as well (as with everything else).
