you're missing the point

whether or not the market recovers has nothing to do with whether or not lawyers make big bucks

even in the best of times, lawyers dont make more than the clients they service. unless pro bono or blue collar crime.

why do you think so many lawyers quit to do something else? the smart ambitious ones will realise that they can do better by building businesses instead of being the paper boys. eg Tan Min Liang

Yup, I don't know why lawyers-to-be keep dreaming about doing corporate law. The bankers in corporate finance that work alongside them get a bigger cut of the fees.

Is doing law and the prospects really that bad?
I am keen to law as a JD but the huge fee is a turn off

Hasn’t it been most people’s dreams to want to
see their children be doctors and lawyers?

Back to my question. Which law school should I go?

What are the prospects of doing JD?

Can share examples of JD graduates you know?

Can I earn big money?
I am asking because not many people knows law so lawyers not replaceable easily.

I've only heard about JDs having issues finding training contracts. Those with a Bachelor degree in law from NUS and SMU are given higher priority.

Firstly your english is quite terrible so I wouldn't advise you to go down this route.

Also, haven't you been reading up the previous posts. You won't earn big money as a lawyer.

A JD gets you very poor ROI after you factor in opportunity cost of not working for 3 years since you will start out on a fresh grad salary again together with the other LLB grads. You will spend years paying back what you forked out. A law degree only makes economical sense as an undergraduate degree.

You're better off getting an MBA from a good school and going into consulting or something similar.

Yes it is.

Though i've heard of people that have used their JD/LLB to get called/training positions in other countries - Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia and the likes.

I hear that solicitors are now in short supply in Australia. If you're going to be spending $70,000 anyway, might as well spend in Australia where you have a chance at law school and residency status.
