Very simple. There isnt any irony.
People who do not want to share their high pay online may think that sharing will infact boost competition internally as more hires come in.
People who share their high pay online may do so in order to showcase that they are better than others. In short; haolian.
Can you head comprehend that there are actually different groups of people behaving differently online instead of lumping them together?

And there are people who do so purely to reduce information asymmetry. Bottom line, it doesnt matter.

Doesnt matter if we can discern them online or not. What matters is there are different groups of people online with their own motivations.
