Why would people inflate the salaries? So that more people would want to join so that competition for internal promotions etc would be tougher? Lol.

By that logic, are you asserting that there are actually incentives for people to deflate their salaries on online forums to reduce competition within their corporation?
If that’s the case, everyone’s real salaries are almost 20k given all the reported 10k fresh grad salaries scattered around here lol
