Good that someone here agrees with me. This person joke la. Really not suitable for this industry. This industry we smoke clients the same style as we smoke analysts like him who want to get promoted but CMI.

If he is that great he would have been promoted long ago. Not surprising to see analysts in their 4th or 5th year still holding onto their hopes and dreams. I personally know some subordinates who are like that. I pity them. Yet i couldnt advise them to just look for jobs elsewhere because of my position.

skip the level 10 nonsense, it is not abt salary
Then you should join public/civil service what, where you get promoted based on seniority rather than performance based.

If you can't get promoted even after 3 years+ as a analyst. That's speak volume about you.

Hahahaha this is the harsh truths. More than 3 years as analyst is a joke.

I foresee he this year end also wont get the promotion.

To promote from analyst to sr analyst is pretty simple. Most managers would take the criteria as whether the analyst can lead junior people or not. And if the analyst is client-facing, whether the analyst can manage client conversations and not talk rubbish or not.

If the analyst is supposed to be in development focused, then proficiency of skillset would be evaluated.

As you can see, the criteria is very simple. However depending on which project you are in, some projects dont ever want to promote analysts unless losing that analyst means the project would be in slight trouble. This is also because they treat analysts as the most dispensable. We can easily get analysts and train them up fast. HR hires analysts by the truckloads every year. No short of people who want to be analysts at accenture.

Still , I don't understand why people still want to hold on to something that's not working out.
Its just like your SO dumped/cheated on you but you are just holding on and wishing that it work out.

Ultimately this group of people are still slower by one year.
In the cruel corporate world nothing is fair bro. Some people can sleep their way up. Some sweet talker can talk their way up. Some good networker can network their way up. Sometimes the boss just really like the person and fast track him for promotion. Sometimes the opportunity just come at the right moment for some people. Does not mean that you are more senior in terms of tenure, you can definitely climb up like a waiting game

Alot of such loserish mentality among CD&O people in the firm. Work with them and you will know.
