For the encik to earn as much as the officer, he must take up more roles or have more experience in order to make up the shortfall in his qualifications.

sorry i'm working as a clerk. Lecturer are good in academic but poor in technical skill

Is it a crime if my English is incompetent...hopefully you are not a lecturer else it is a disgrace....wolf in a sheep skin.

What a presumptuous statement. Just because a person is good in academics doesn't mean he is bad at technical skills. He can be good in both. That aside, the polytechnics are looking for LECTURERS. Lecturers need to lecture. So does it matter if his technical skills are bad? No, as long as the poly is satisfied with his academic teaching standards, there is no need for his technical skills to be up to par. You, obviously, do not have that academic standard. Im not one to judge but just based on how you write, we can assume you at least did not make it to local uni. Thus, should you be paid the same as a lecturer who probably even has a masters degree? Nay.

And no, I am not a lecturer.

Question number 1 :

Is 'D' grade mean for TSO only ? Because so far never heard of Lecturer got 'D'.
U think its fair to TSO ?

Question number 2 :

TSO 3/4 salarys are at least 1K lower than PAX 5/6, why cluster them together for grading for such a different in wages.

Just because you've never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I never see mount everest before but does it still exist? Of course it does. Is it fair for a person to be given a bad grade if his/her performance is not up to par? Yes, it is fair.

If u think its fair, i would say u are a lousy if HR run by u.

For the bell curve, someone need to fall at grade 'D', and u think its fair that all 'D' given to others, none to Lecturer. Is'nt it bias?

U as a HR compare 2 employees under the same Category with such a big difference in salary.U think its fair to place u and your director in the same group.

All this bitching over what is "fair" is childish. Not happy with your grade, go get another job or start playing some office politics to get your A/B.

I visited this thread because the title seems to imply there might be some sharing on how to game the appraisal system to move up from D. I was also interested to hear stories how some people can end up with D and get lessons to avoid pitfalls myself.

Instead the whole thread pretty much degenerated into a childish tantrum bitching about how it is unfair, hr sux, lecturer should get D or not, etc.

Why would industrial experts work with poly lecturers in the first place? Yeah, maybe poly lecturers got no technical skills. But so what? They there to lecture, not to be a nurse or engineer or what. But to teach.
