pal, dont be foolish.

singaporeans are an entitled bunch of people.

in most countries, pay is given as an annual package.

most MNCs follow that route.

your 13months package is outdated.

OMG its the stupid 13 month crap again from the web. Why do people even believe that nonsense. You know why it doesn't matter if you receive it over 12 or 13 month? Cause we look at annual package. When you sign you sign for the annual package, not the monthly salary. If a company gives you 4000 dollar a month with AWS and another gives you 4500 without AWS, which would you choose? The 4500 right? Cause overall the whole year you'll still get more. Does it matter that you didn't have AWS? No, cause you earn more. Is the company cheating you out of a month? Well clearly not since you agreed to it in the first place.

Lets put it in another way, if a company has a annual budget of 60000 per person, and yes, salary are usually budgeted P.A., then I would give someone a monthly salary of 5000. Now, if I have to give AWS, then would I still give 5000? Obviously not, I will divide it by 13 and give you 4615 instead.

or... is this too complex for you

some people are just naive.

a 12 month's package is clearly superior - in case i want to leave.

then again, that guy must probably so low in demand that he cant leave, so having a 13th month pay makes him feel happy.

what do i know? i only know i drive a Z4 roadster.

Big4 is such a joke in Singapore. They are really out to fleece fresh graduates.

Let me break this down for consulting starting pay:

MBB - 6k per month and above
ATK/RB/OW - 5k per month and above
Most boutique firms - 5k per month and above
ACN/IBM - 4k per month and above
Deloitte S&O - 3.5k per month
Big4 - Sub 3k

Apart from ACN/IBM who mostly go for big fat tech projects, here are the breakdowns of the fees these firms collect for a 4 week project in terms of USD

MBB - Easily more than 500k
ATK/RB/OW - About 400k
Most boutique firms - 100k to 400k depending on expertise
Deloitte S&O - About 350k to 500k, sometimes they match MBB
Big4 - 250k and above

Here is the career pay scale for a big4 employee:
A1 - 2850
A2 - 3350
S1 - 4350
S2 - 4850
S3/AM - 5350

Even after 5 years, you're barely at the starting pay of other consulting analysts yet your rate card is probably higher. No wonder the turnover is so high. The HR at Big4 are really big time failures and that is also why, majority of your Big4 employees are not the cream of the crop and that's why their standard will always be at the lower band of tier 2.

Looks like we have an updated pay scale for 2015/2016. A bump up of $150 compared to 3 years ago. Still pretty crappy on a per-hour basis - you will likely work at least 10 hours a day for a total of 200 hours a month. After 5 years at AM, your hourly pay is $26/hour, assuming you haven't "progressed" to a 300 hour month due to the additional workload of managing projects. That would put you at $17/hour.

To the joker saying after 10 years a high performer can reach 15k+ and 9-10 months bonus, you must be dreaming. At 10 years even a high performer would be at a director level which is about 10-12k. Tau chio like siao if you can get 5 months bonus.

Wow, big 4 looks horrible, consulting included.

I heard EY consultants get paid about $2.8k. That's insanely low.

The 2.8k pay is blanket across the board.

PwC - 2850 not sure if it comes with signing bonus
Deloitte - 2850 with 2000 signing bonus
KPMG - 2900 iirc, 3500 for first class
EY - 2850

Don't be fooled by the Strategy& or Parthenon acquisitions. It's solely from a branding perspective. PwC and EY now sell their strategy work under S& and Parthenon-EY. Due to the partnership model and the nature of the M&A, mostly only major markets like US/UK/JP are affected and monetary benefits goes to the acquired.

But if you do a quick LinkedIn search, the calibre at the strategy side are pretty decent, many MBBs so it still remains to be seen if they will become a force within the next few years.

Partner takes about 17 years experience to get to. And this is usually for internal staff who work their way up.

Director salaries are above the 10-12k range. This is more like a Senior Manager/ Associate director salary range. Directors should be 13-16k. Would like to hear of other Big 4 experiences on salary.
