Why is this so? Because do not forget IB slaves work 80 to 100 hours all year round to grt 10k/mth but financial consultants like us earn 10k/mth with flexible hours (still can go fitness classes in the morning, high tea session with clients in the afternoon and gym at night)
sleep with clients to earn that extra $$$?

Audit is mostly useless

95% of the deadlines for non listed companies are all arbitrary and can be postponed. There is no need to OT at all. OT is only needed for listed companies

Boomers will say you're not hungry enough, or this generation damn jialat, or what is with that self entitled thinking.

Hard to change their mentality because that system is what they went through and worked for them.

Get real la. Most auditors are in Big 4 because they can't get other better options like MNCs, Ministry, MAS or FIs.

Audit is a sh*tty job but someone has to do it. This is one instance where the pay is actually commensurate with the value of the service provided.

All this talk about boomers perpetuating lack of WLB culture is irrelevant if they were good enough to have better options than audit in the first place.

The issue really isn't about Big 4 culture, but the shi*ty nature of the line. Audit is routine and low margin, lower value chain service requiring lots of grunt hours.

If Big 4 firms allow their staff to work lighter hours, they have to reduce the number of engagements = less profit and fewer hires/less pay. If they pay more, they will need to hire fewer (cos margins alr so low) and squeeze existing staff.

You can go to a small or mid tier firm and work family friendlier hours than Big 4, but you get paid accordingly lesser lor.

This is a structural problem of the industry.

Sorry but you wasted your own time on a Saturday night. Your long post is irrelevant and doesnít say anything that we donít already know.

LOL more like $0 base salary. If you can make $10k a month from your own efforts, still need to hover around this thread trying to recruit ppl like some Bernie Madoff dog?

Yea. Posts get repetitive after a while. Nothing new, don't waste time.
