Sure, some locals look down on overseas uni grads too, but at least with that degree, I have been able to land jobs in both the public and private sector without issue.
The world is such a harsh and biased place. Sometimes it's just down to how lucky you are rather than how good you actually are.
That said, I know at least 3 friends who went to SIM/SIM UOL who are earning a lot more than myself, with high positions in their companies. Ironically, one of them said he wouldn't hire a SIM grad himself. Even though it seems like most of them don't do well in the working world, it would still be wrong to assume that 100% of SIM grads are useless.

I know 1 friend who went to ITE who are earning a lot more than myself, with high positions in their companies. Even though it seems like most of them don't do well in the working world, it would still be wrong to assume that 100% of ITE grads are useless.
This sentence makes sense too right? Lol.

"That said, I know at least 3 friends who went to SIM/SIM UOL who are earning a lot more than myself, with high positions in their companies." - pointless anecdotal evidence. if we go out of context and talk about the top 1%ers, why even bother counter-arguing in the first place.
the context here is that TS is a soon to be SIM graduate with no internship and no relevant experiences. doesnt matter if ur friend did this or that, we're not talking about ur friend here...

Haha. I guess most of the anti-SIM sentiments are from local grads that found out some of their DIM counterparts doing well; better than them, which their Ego can't take it.

I don't get your point at all, sorry.
I don't know your friends either, I don't know their situation or what their issue is. I do know TS's issue because he made this thread.
So I don't see what's your point, again, not trying to be rude.
I just thought it was weird that you tried to relate to TS ( or whatever u were implying ) when you said people look down on overseas uni grads... because they don't lol
like it or not, you're better than SIM grads. there's a reason why tech companies interview and hire overseas uni grads and u can actually see many many Singaporeans from Australian Uni, Glasglow Uni, etc on linkedin where they work in large tech companies.
Yet I can't find a single SIM grad who has worked in a tech company worth mentioning. so based off this data alone and the general consensus around SIM grads, it's quite obvious that overseas uni are equivalent to local uni at least in terms of hirable...
the same cant be said about SIM.
