Default Salary OR Skillset

I am currently working as a web developer, but I feel I am sort of over-paid for my job for my level of experience. Changing company will mean a downgrade in my salary.

With my skillset, it means if I ever get laid off in the future, my job hunt is restricted to a particular job scope. I知 indifferent to my work and has nothing I知 interested in. My work currently feels pretty easy and repetitive also. I知 definitely grateful to have this job and I知 constantly worried I will get laid off someday.

I知 starting this forum because I wonder will people focus on developing skillset for themselves to progress in their career or keep their job for the salary.

You can attend courses during your free time, some online courses are available too.. this way you are ready for a different role when the time comes.
