EE, if you are good at python / programming its advisable you should pivot into that field if you want a higher starting salary.

Unsure about engineering job pays, maybe you can go micron, they offer high salaries but attrition is quite high

if you don't have much choices I guess micron or semi conductors are usually easy to get in (you can use these as safety net job choices)

if I were you I'll probably improve my programming in the meantime (since its a in-demand skill) unless this is something you really hate.

anyways EE degree can be quite flexible, don't limit yourself to only engineering jobs. Friend from EE did machine learning, I believe the mathematical background from ee can allow you to pivot to other fields even like finance. Go find out what you like

If others put 2.5k, you think you will ever get the job? The competition is real my friend in today's global market.

Stop spreading fear and uncertainty lah boomer. Fresh grads in the company Im working in already getting 4.5k. Just need quantitative background from a local uni and able to do simple coding and present yourself decently during the interview.

2.5k only for useless sme with lowball boomer bosses.

4.5K too low already lah. Many other skillsets pay higher than quantitative background from locai uni and doing coding.

Agree. I'm an EE grad, but entered IT industry straightaway.
Started at 3.4k but hit 9k after 5 years, and now about 16k after another 4.5 years.
