For those with 2-5 YOE, what is your salary?

For those who graduated 2-5 years ago, curious to know how everyone is doing in terms of their salary.

Do specify the industry, job scope, # of YOE, starting salary and how you reached your current salary (annual revision, promotion, hop company, etc).

Thanks!

Nice progression sia, thats a 40% increase over 3 years which is pretty hard to come by. You stay in the same company throughout or you jump?

Yes graduate program. For good performers. This cannot be classified as insane la. The following is my cohort FO peer progression. I’m sad that I can’t even cross his starting pay.

2017 - 9000
2018 - 9000
2019 - 12000
2020 - 16666
2021 - 20000

the IT industry, this is within easy reach for an average person.

This also depends on industry you are in, e.g banking it's known for it's higher pay, but if I'm correct they work long hours too. (pinch of salt, I'm not from the banking sector so might be wrong)

Take into account your work life balance too than just the monthly figures.

5k/mth, works 8 hours a day
vs
7k/mth, works 12 hours a day

Counting hourly rate, the 7k is getting paid lower.

IT, developer, started mid 2016

yoe - salary
0 - 3600
1.5 - 4400 promote
2 - 5300 promote
2.5 - 5400 increment
2.75 - 6500 change job
3.75 - 7250 change job
4.75 - 7450 increment

and hopefully jumping soon, in the process of interviewing right now

To TS,

There will be people with 'insane' salaries.
1. Either they are ********ing, you know it's online.
2. Or those are your 1 in a million kind of people.

Advice to not bother about those 'insane' salaries, if you always compare yourself to the top people, you probably will never be contented with what you have.
