That's the jump between TC and newly qualified associate. I worked in a Big 4 local law firm so the starting salary is quite standard at 5.5 to 6.

Like the previous poster said, the next jump was due me moving to a US-based law firm.

Don't worry. A mix of self-selection bias and self-delusion will overstate the proportion of people who really do earn big bucks. As long as you do you, and know what your worth is, is good enough.

You are doing great. My female friends who were from JC started working 1 year earlier than me are earning 3-3.5k monthly currently. One of the girls, her fiancé is earning 6k per month as a marketing manager. He also gets a car from his company for his work. I believe my that friend already thinking about being a taitai in the future. She keeps talking about how she pressures her fiancé to buy their own car every time we met. I’m not sure how they will manage.

As long as you are on track for your retirement, manage your expectations, your life will be great.
