Within the school, ranking is done in general across the entire school. Hence, those in the higher PAX will usually be ranked higher than those in lower PAX regardless of whatever big projects you do. However, at the HR level, they will give out grades based on the individual PAX, i.e. compare all PAX 3 across all schools. Then there will be a meeting where the directors "fight it out".

1) What is the average yearly increment?
2) Typically, how many years between each promotion? Pax5 to Pax4, Pax4 to Pax3, etc.
3) What is the criteria to be sponsored for a post-grad, i.e. Masters. Is it very rare?

Thanks again!

1) Depends on your pax, minimum should be $150
2) Promotion depends on your performance. So how long really depend on your skills. Most staff struck at Pax 4.
3) Criteria also goes back to Point no. 2 No hard and fast rule.

Just my 2 cents suggestion - Don't bother to aim for high pay as a lecturer. But the pay here should be ok for you to survive in Spore. So you have to weight the pros and cons. Work life balance or good money.

If all components same, then PAX is much better because PAX average PB is 3+ (judging from other posts) while Civil Service average only 1.5mth

Default Stop whining and whingeing

Its unbelievable to read those posts from ppl who claim they are getting less than they deserve ie little increments, small adjustments etc. Compare what you do with others in pte sector ans SME you guys are having it good with relatively stable employment. Most prob can leave office on time. With the kinda annual salaries basef on pb mths written in this thread thise complainer should really ask themselves if you can get better out there and if you can then whats stoping you????!!! You are a disgrace to others in this profession who work hard and too busy to even come here to whine! Wake up!

I understand that not all staff will have PB. Those that did not perform well enough will be graded "D" and will be given no PB. It includes people in PAX 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Not sure about PAX 1.

Say that to our ministers. They set the tone of the whole society. Look at Yeo Cheow Tong and George Yeo and Lim Hwee Hua - are they even getting a fraction of what they were earning as ministers previously? They were the "best talent" you know...
