Thanks to whoever replied my queries, really appreciated it.
Just another question, how many years does it typically take for a good performer to move from Pax 6 to 5 and to 4?

Just my 2 cents suggestion - Don't bother to aim for high pay as a lecturer. But the pay here should be ok for you to survive in Spore. So you have to weight the pros and cons. Work life balance or good money.

How difficult/easy is it to convert from PT to FT? What to expect/ask for the salary in this case? Will it be same amount as working PT for 5 days a week with CPF?

When I convert to work in poly, with similar pay, there are more work in poly than the industry. It is not nice for pple out there to speculate that lecturers are having work-life balance and are paid better.

I am looking at the salary scales posted in this thread (copied below).
Could someone please explain the 3 numbers? Using PAX 5 as an example, it says "$ 3,750 - 5,740 / 6,740", does it mean that 3750-5740 is the range? Then what about 6740?
PAX Salary Range (effective 1 Sep 2012)
PAX 2
$10,920 - 14,910 /16,900
PAX 3
$ 7,060 - 9,670 /10,980
PAX 4A/4E
$ 5,120 - 7,690 / 8,980
PAX 5A/5E
$ 3,750 - 5,740 / 6,740
PAX 6A/6E
$ 2,410 - 4,270 / 5,200

The range is $3750 to $6740.
Max. salary, also called ceiling for PAX5 is $6740. Implication is - Once you reach this number and if you have not been promoted, you will not get any Merit Increment. But you will still get your performance bonus. You will remain at this salary forever, unless there is a change in the ceiling which is usually changed after Salary Reviews, done every 4 years or so.
$5740 is the BAR. You need to cross this number before you can be considered for promotion to the next PAX level, which is PAX4.

No. No need to cross bar before being promoted. To cross bar at PAX4-6, need to get 2 consecutive >C+.

By the way, i had crossed bar at PAX6 by getting C.
Not yet promoted.

oops... I meant C+ and above
You mean you crossed the bar by getting a C? That's weird. We had a briefing by HR and this was specifically mentioned. Get a C then can't cross bar.
