Was from one of the better BB (JPM/HSBC/Barclays)as an associate MO/BO. Bonus is pretty **** year on year (think 1-1.8~2months max) so don’t have the misconception that US/EU banks have more bonuses. Then again if you are FO it’s a different story.

Background check only happens once they have accepted you for the role. The only reason one gets rejected at the background check stage, is if the background check threw up some issues, such as lying on resume.

But your base pay should be higher to compensate for the bonus.
