likely the hiring manager is fully aware of the budget for the role, and since they are now informed of your current drawn (and potentially your expecting salary), they would likely act on that info and/or update the HR as well. i cannot comment if hiring manager would reject you because your salary is too high, they are too many variables and it depends from case to case.

prior to your interview with the hiring managers, were you contacted by the HR who screened your profile and/or arranged your intvs?

HR arranged the interview so would assume that my profile has been screened by them. Do hiring managers usually ask for current remuneration during interview? I assume this would be a question from HR. Unless this is the norm for local banks?

1-2 weeks would be a reasonable timeframe for HR to revert I would think. Unless anyone else here thinks that is too long or too short for local banks experienced hires?

So then possible for you to go back to the HR around 1.5-2weeks after ur interview to follow up for any updates on ur applications?

Also, what is the max salary for the avp role?

I am not exactly sure about the max salary but based on forums, I think it can go up to 12k for total compEnsation (including bonus)? My current is already more than 13k and that is just the base.

You should be fitted to a VP role in your next move

I think so too, but some local banks require more than 10 years experience for a VP role (I may be wrong?) and I am currently at 9 years. Or would they bump you up to VP solely based on your current remuneration based on a slightly lesser years of experience? Anyone from local banks experienced this before?

Local banks are generally discouraged to hire someone say below 10 years exp for a VP as this affects team equality. It is their discretion to offer you a VP payscale but AVP title if the role they are hiring is AVP/VP.. and after a year or two, promote you into VP. It also depends on a lot factors e.g. your future team are young VPs hence they are considering you right now despite the JD looking for 10 years exp which is the typical years to be VP but you (and your future team mates) are not typical

Thank you for giving a reasonable, realistic, and well thought out reply. Rare on this forum. Appreciate it :-)
