It's not easy to move to div 1 from 2 so i suggest you stick to the private sector.

That's a huge paycut... Do you wish to change even they offer u 3.6k even if is MX scheme?
Are u unhappy with the current job... If not just continue in ur current job or continue to Hunt for another job which you think the offer is resonable. (:

Yes some of the higher grade MSO are in division 1. Not sure is it IV or III.

If you long for the the 'DO NOTHING" life is civil service just take it. I am sure you know what i mean.

Do caution that the increment and bonus are very tied to your scheme.

I am dissapointed that I'm not offered mx position but they told me that there are not hiring mx position at the moment.
I want to know what does division really means as I am in division 1 of Mso scheme is it good? Should I accept this offer or wait for mx position offer. What are my chances? Thanks in advance.
ur pay kena cut 1.2k is no joke leh. think u better stay in the private sector.

rmit degree, somemore from part, are classified as 2nd tier degree, so please expect lower pay. civil service doesnt really recognize past exp done in poly dip lvl.

btw wat class of honors do you get?

just a gauge for you, 2nd upper -non-NS, local degree getting 3.2k, male with NS(depend on how long you serve your NS, range from 3.4k to 3.7k) starting

Yeah I don't really like my current job. I prefer government sector but I'm just wondering what are my chances for mx scheme. What do you think my expected salary as civil servant should be cos I know definately I will suffer a Paycut. Thanks for all those who reply.

im a fresh female grad with second upper class hons. just want to check. if a statboard offered me slightly above 3.2k and i rejected it and is now waiting for an official offer from a ministry. can i use that as a negotiation point for the ministry to give me the same pay? given that the ministry told me my pay range was 3.2k to what the statboard is offering.

Chances of MX scheme is unpredictable i wld say. I was once in stat board and I find it no different from statboard Div level & the Mx scheme. They just term it differently. Govt increment & the amount is small & slow as well.

Have you try negotiate with HR? Try negotiate with the HR for a higher payout than 3.6k.

Anyway If i am in ur situation, getting a 1.2k cut is a definite NO for me to change job.

Quote from a user in this forum:
"99% of all jobs suck, so it's always better to get a well paying job that sucks than one that sucks but doesn't pay well."

Eventually, is still your own decision. Good luck. (:
