I am on MX11. And i literally got a 10% increment. Happy but at the same time, i can only imagine how politically unplatable this would be to the general public with the CNB/SCDF case. Think the public outcry will be great once PSD makes a press release on the pay adjustment.

But then again, this pay adjustment is for regular civil servants and not the elitist civil servants which the head CNB and SCDF belonged to (admin service officers). The last adjustment for the MX scheme was in 2008. So i think the official line would be that this is part of civil service's adjustments to ensure that the salaries are competitive, etc and it goes independent of other issues.

I don't think they are admin officers.

you're not very familiar with the civil service's pay system.

For senior management who are MXes, most will be MX9, a handful of MX8s (senior directors) and much much fewer MX7s (also senior directors). Usually no one is 6 (DS grade) and above. Those numbers are more for admin officers (DS, PS and senior PSes, etc, A0 6-8 for DSes, 1-5 for PSes). I know of some in the intel service who can hit very high grades like 5-6. Still, very rare.

I actually think MXes are overpaid. An MX11 can hit ard 7k+. MX10 ard 11k. Many civil servants can reach these grades. These are risk free rates. Take a look outside where there is job insecurity. How many people do you honestly think can earn such pay? Yes, the bankers, etc can definite reach much higher pay, but your average graduate who is a corporate worker? engineer? Most are likely to be stuck at ard 5-6k.

since you are MX11, I suppose you are getting between 400-600 wage adjustment....wow it is alot man....

So the adjustment will take effective from FEB2012 ???

And then in APR2012, will have the annual Merit increment , will be getting abt 200-500 more.....

so if your salary is 4100 now, can I say by MAY2012 , after wage adjustment + merit increment.....you will be getting very close to 5K
