Anyone knows what the work culture is like in MTI? Good opportunities for progression? Salary?

it's true for EDB and MAS. these 2 stat boards have higher annual compensation packages and do not have to follow ministry.
MTI is a ministry.

You have to look at the annual package rather than the monthly salary. MAS' bonus tends to be lesser than the civil service.

Was offered a job at a statboard with 2.3 as starting for a diploma holder. However, I have about 4 years of previous work experience in civil service with Olvl cert and pay was barely 2. Also got my dip last Sep.
do statbord/ministry just look at paper or do they see your work experience? Am I getting the shorter end of the stick with 4 years exp but getting same pay as a fresh dip holder?
Not sure if i should secure the job because of covid19 or continue hunting? currently jobless but not really hard on cash.

Is your experience relevant? What role are being offered?
Is your dip local? Do you have good reference from your previous job?

My grapevine tells me not to go there. Hierarchy is flat n little opportunity to promote.
Anyway, did u c a lot a lot of job positions suddenly open from mti? Cos recently there was a flux of enmasse resignation.
Not gg to reveal exactly why. But if u are ok with starting anew in this covid situation then the decision is entirely up to u.

Applied for finance role, got offered payroll. Did payment and procurement for govt sector previously so I know the SOPs and system well but probably not as relevant to payroll(?) Dip is local. Got good ref from previous bosses too.
