I concur with the 2 posts above that it should range between 3.5-4k. Should be on the higher side adding the NS allowance.

And no masters don’t add value for fresh grads.

To add on, if you going to the ministry’s favourite SB associate programme, then slightly under 3.9k. My friend got a 2:1 w Masters there.

Ah i see. Thanks all for the info! But does Masters push my 2:1 to a FCH in a sense and they will base my pay on FCH? Also, any way would Masters be useful then - say advantage for interview or promotion?

Grade 6 is the entry level for fresh grads, the job ads on career@gov still typically put a requirement for 2-3 years of relevant experience.

I’ve previously had 11 months of experience at the same stat board as an temporary assistant executive (Grade 4, for diploma holders) which was outsourced by a 3rd party recruitment agency.

And fyi, unless you come in middle management, they typically use a formula to compute your salary. I had only indicated 3,600 in the career@gov application as my previously drawing salary was 2,800.

Sorry I don’t think it works that way. Then that like FCH w Masters get increment, lol? In long term, it will aid your promotion and prolly give you an advantage to get the job. However the civil service do not really consider masters into your pay as a fresh grad. It’s more like a long-run investment!

I did a diploma in business studies with Ngee Ann poly, but i kinda messed up my grades back then, coupled with the fact that only the top 10% of the yearly poly cohorts could get into the local Universities.

RMIT in singapore doesn’t have an honors program since it’s only for 3 years. They do however, offer a bachelors with distinction for those who score 75% and higher for their GPA. And somewhere equivalent to in the middle of the 2:2 and 2:1 in local universities in relative figures.

Thanks for sharing! No worries, strong poly courses to degree is competitive so you also did well at RMIT. Anyway, by comparing just degree outcome, 4.2 for a 2:1 is high! Nice deal you scored
