Compare civil service salary

Thinking of applying into LTA’s policy role, anyone has an idea how is the work place like, and if it is a good place to start to gain some work experience? Also how much can i ask for as as FCH in biz studies from NUS. Thank you.

i am a AD in one of the ministry drawing less than 7k. my friend is a Manager in a SB drawing more than me. a Manager in my ministry is drawing only 5k plus. of cose i am also aware there are other smaller SB that had a DD equivalent to my level of salary.

You may be right about the job scope though since in general, we in Ministry are the one who work on the strategic routemap while SB are the one who execute it.

Thanks for sharing. Did u work your way up to AD or did u just join?

I am an AM doing education related work in a ministry (not moe) I draw middle 4k gross wo bonus. I was wondering why my Gross is so low, now I know an AD draws under 7k then I feels reasonable (2 ranks to climb, 5 years) , but still... It baffles me why ministry pay so low nowadays for strategic prowess.

I console myself that it depends on industry. My 2 friends in SB, males w NS, honours, manager taking mid 4k too. We are all pursuing our interest and banking on our experience, doing education related work.

Those drawing good money, (6, 7k manager) whats their field buddy? Interested to know if u don't mind

If fresh grad don't think too much, the HR will hardly budge. If u want to indicate on your application form, just put 3k to ensure they call. If you are window shopping then put 4k also can. Who knows they may call.

Any experience in a large company is good. Large company can continue in large company easily. Small company want to join large is difficult.

I dont have the comprehensive list. i got 2 friends who are drawing 7k Manager, one in a SB under MOT, the other in a SB that used to be under IDA. -> hope it is obvious enough. =)

You friends are likely in PA, NEA, CPF etc. I guess.

I believe we are given "higher" title in Ministry to show empowerment as we often have meetings with the DD or D in SB. Well, nvm about the salary so long as you are paid according to your experience, a M or a AD is afterall just a title.

the base should be similar but the bonus may be lesser compare to people doing engineering work.

for fellow fresh grads, if you get an offer already, do you still go for other interviews? how do you tell the current offer ministry/SB that you are awaiting for something else? :s11:
