Alas, it was no surprise that I was given a "D" performance grade and told that contract will not be renewed.

The contract issue is not a worry for me, however I'm concerned that other CS agencies might blackmark me for my D performance grade in this year. Any HR experts can shed light on what exactly is going to happen to me? I recently joined this agency, and had C+'s and a B in my previous years prior to joining this agency.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
How many other cs have u jumped during ur working life? Best is to go back to the agency you were previously from. If it is ministry they w have ur records and they might have concerns over ur D grade. It took a colleague of mine a lot of effort to find another job in cs and his new boss used to know him personally before so can vouch for his ability.

Singapore customs: 2nd lower fresh grad with ns should get how much starting pay?

Are they on MXO scheme? I see the rank structure is like senior custom officer than it is chief custom officer. Does it means that most ppl get stuck at senior custom officer? Are there career progression?

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Since your contract isn't renewed, it means you have to search for a new job. You can try another agency within public service, or even go back to your previous agency. However, if you do so, you will be queried at interviews why you are not continuing with the current agency. Do prepare a diplomatic answer re: job fit. Also, there is no stopping the interviewing agency from ringing up the current agency for feedback. You may want to try the private sector instead.

Thanks so much for the info! Yes I'm looking at pte sector as well. However I understand that HR reference checks are usually done over email, so it doesn't really matter whether the new agency uses the same HRMS personnel system or not. My current agency will probably tell whichever company/bank/agency about my 'D' grade over email during the reference check.

Will such a grade be viewed negatively, even in pte sector?

who cares in the pte sector? they will just ask why you left, thats all. if they want to call, be prepared to get owned.

why arent you using perfect english in your emails? not very professional isnt it?

Maybe your Boss is not the one at fault, but you.

U should reflect on your performance.

Indeed. I do appraisals, and awarding a 'D' requires justification. The performance must have been really bad.

Not to mention the paperwork involved. It's really a hassle so not many bosses are keen to award a D unless they have no choice...
