lol farmer or not, you'll be comfortably in the upper-middle class already as a civil servant with a degree. car and condo should be no problem too.

Car and condo no problem is no problem, but savings hard to increase, by retirement age won’t have much money left. Have to work till old age to keep up with car and condo payments.

Fresh grad here, sorry if this is a stupid qn, but when you guys say fresh grad salary in CS is around 3.5k - 4k, does that already include bonus?

I'm surprised how well fresh grads in CS are paid, given the median monthly salary in SG across all ages is only about 4k (incl. bonus). That'd also mean most fresh grads in CS already earn more than the median monthly salary in SG the moment they join. :O

I’m working in a higher tier stat board and my first year package was (not inclusive employer cpf) $3600 x 12 + 2 months PB (C+ performer) + 1 month aws + 0.45 months mid year bonus and 0.1 month end year bonus. Total package ~56k.

This is not including the various perks of working in civil service like flexi ben etc, but of course it is a trade off in that salary might plateau at some point unless you’re a scholar.

Just for a background, I’m female (no ns) and on a second lower honours from a art faculty NUS

Median monthly income in 2019 was $4563. So excluding employer CPF contribution, it's about 4k?

Okay maybe the “higher tier” statboard term was used loosely and threw people off. I’m from URA. Pretty sure EDB and MAS (which isn’t a statboard) pays better.

oh my, didn't know URA pays that much! now I wonder how much the other stat boards pay
