What's the typical salary progression like? Is it really true it's nothing comparable to the outside?
My current monthly is: 5800
Let's say in 5 years time, what would I be looking at for a normal progression?
Would civil service even pay 7-8k for a normal developer or engineer role?

Your salary is at the cap of MX12 if you are under the MX scheme, 5 year probably will get you to MX11/11A depending on performance and room for progression. Probably need to check with someone else if you are looking at Govtech, they are under a different scheme I think.
