Do MTI fresh grads earn the same as fresh grads from other ministries like MSF/MCCY/MHA...?

anyway, this is besides the point. the point is someone is saying being a avg perfomer, to earn 130p.a at 40+ in PS is no good as ppl in private is earning that same amt at mid 30s.

of cose it is definitely achievable, even in PS. but that is definitely not avg performer
In that sense, most civil servants are earning around the 70-90th percentile in Singapore? That's a really good deal, especially if you factor in the iron rice bowl stability.

Agreed. MFA 2nd upper FSO fresh grad is 4.8k... MAS & GIC about 5k

MFA FSOs arent on the normal MXO schemes (which MTI and the others are on). They are entitled to their own special allowances and bonuses which you wont find anywhere else.

Most MFA peeps are FCH holders - it is only the rare person (usually on the functional track too) that comes in with a 2nd upper. Starting can be 5k or so, but they only hire about 20 a year anyway.

For MAS, i’m not sure of your source but they range from 3.8-4.3k. Also understand that their monthly salaries are front-loaded (their 13 month bonus is spread out to increase the basic figure - hence not 1-1 comparable with other CS salaries).

Just the AD title but they’re on the generic MXO scheme so they wouldnt be paid much different from say, a senior executive/minlaw or associate from MOF

Thats before they pass probabtion. After 1 year, they receive a lump sum bonus on top of the regular PB. This lump sum then gets divided by 12 and added to initial 4.3k to become 5k+...

yup. but MOM claim the stats exclude people without fix income e.g. sales, insurance, businessman, freelancer which contribute to a certain percentage of the population as well

yes. but that lump sum then is also part of their annual package. all in all mfa is getting on avg about 16-17 mths package (split aws and lump sum out) similar to the other SB and Min

So basically what you’re saying is that MAS offers the same 3.8-4.3k but just withholds your bonus till you clear probation. That’s not an apples to apples comparison because other agencies pay their bonuses in the first year.

Furthermore, we’re talking about base salaries before bonuses. If you want to throw in bonuses and complete packages, you’re looking at about 6-7k per month starting for MFA.
