Huh I won’t consider people who work in financial institutions and IT on the same scale as most civil servants. These are the higher paid areas in private sector, doesn’t make up much of the % of private sector employees.

The majority of private sector employees eg. those in industries such as education, media or hospitality do not earn 5 figures a month by 30s and thats a fact.

You used to draw $4.5k. Now you can have a 22% increase, fair or not, it is a good deal for you.

Btw when joined a SB from private they gave me an increment of only $190.

Sounds like a fair and good offer (no lowball) but important to know grade also. Pls ask and find out before signing. Congrats on your offer!

Thanks guys for the prompt replies and clearing my doubts. I just wasn't sure if my Masters was factored in.

Anyways yes I will ask about the grade too!

The concern here is that I'm close to the ceiling right? (sorry i'm still trawling through the thread from page 700 to learn the ropes about the salary package.)

Also, HR told me that I'll be on contract for 2 years first, will there be increment given and possibility of promotion during the period of contract? I've read about a confirmation increment, is that after probation or after converting to perm from contract.

TIA!

Hi guys~ would need to seek your advice.
F, 26, Second upper, local uni.
Joined in Oct 17 - 3.5
Became MX12 in Oct 18, emplaced in Oct 19. Grade this year was C+. MI was 3% and salary became 4.1.

My current workplace i feel there's not much progression. Supervisor alr reached CEP, so i feel he's not pushing for growth in the department.

I applied for another job within same parent ministry, under specialist scheme. They're only willing to up my salary by 3%, so 4.2k.
Is this a fair deal? I thought specialist scheme will have a decent pay increment but why is my pay increment so low?
i'm tempted to take up that offer just to increase my progression but wah the pay...
