I'm 36yo and earning 6k in private sector, 2 months bonuses.
Is that wise to switch to stat board? If I want to get salary 7k above.
BA role. With min programming skills.
not easy to get a monthly pay increment when u move from private (14mths package) to PS (16mths package). likely the hr will cut your pay little then tell you story like overall package how good.

but no harm trying though

not kidding, i have listed my assumption.. you can count for yourself.
the annual increment for avg performer can be quite miserable. people stay is because of stability and bonus (around avg 4 mths spread across the year)

anyway 8k in PS easily translate into more than 130k p.a. (avg >10k per mth) say you start work at 24/25.. you will reach 130p.a at the age of 42. not too bad for a avg performer, you cant get this sum if you are a avg performer in private sector

note : i didnt factor in any pay revision due to inflation

Just did a check with the MOM statistics. 130k p.a. is already top 10% when comparing across all ages and both genders. Not sure where you get the 30% figure from.

130k p.a. is achievable in private sector by mid 30s. But not everyone can achieve it.

top 10%? where did you check? can share the link?

anyway, this is besides the point. the point is someone is saying being a avg perfomer, to earn 130p.a at 40+ in PS is no good as ppl in private is earning that same amt at mid 30s.

of cose it is definitely achievable, even in PS. but that is definitely not avg performer

generally no. Unlikely that the hiring manager or HR will agree. No point taking the risk even if there is interest. I am unsure if there have been exceptions.
