I find this very strange. Aren't SWE all top earners? Why would you go into education when you can be making big bucks in other companies instead?

how come this thread reads like poly lecturer earn very little?

during my time in poly, seems like all the lecturers were making 8k.
inflation adjusted, maybe 12k equivalent

no, most will end at about 8.x k which is the pinnalce amount for non-appointment holder
