2022/2023 had upward salary revisions for acad pay-scales, 8.8k max sounds like old scale; those kapo try looking at IPX new scales/revisions of 2022/2023 across all five polys.

Just like huge pay differnces btwn pilots/cabin-crew; docs/nurses; there;s big differences in pay scales in poly acad/lecturers/professional/managerial vs admin tracks-else it's confusing to read pay comparisons without context. If comparing salaries- best include the job context/scale.

Guys is it stressful to be a ITE lecturer
if I just want to do a routine work as ITE lecturer, is it doable?
Do I need to do some planning or manage something?

during my time in poly, seems like all the lecturers were making 8k.
inflation adjusted, maybe 12k equivalent

Figures above $8k to $12k are all correct; poly IPS pay-scales are very very wide. Some newbies join even lower at $3-6k; while senior lecturers can be $7-13K (incl.bonuses) & lecturers in managerial appts/asst/deputydirectors above can be $10-16k++ (incl.bonuses).

Depends on luck and timing I would say. The range is pretty big. I see some engineers starting at IPS5 whilst others starting as IPS7. Try to get more experience outside and use years of experience to fight for higher starting pay. Unfortunately unless you are one of those "high flyer" and get promoted every few years the pay is quite stagnant once you get in.
As crude as one of the previous posters stated (about helicopter in), it is still true.
Helicopter in higher (preferably IPS7 and above). Else it won't be worth it.

Not easy helicopter in high grade. Entry level $4-6K++.Poly IPX pay scales very broad. Senior lecturers est $7-13K++, lecturers in managerial appts/ asst/deputy directors est $10-16k++. Polys stat boards scales r not vastly different frm Ministries' MX scales or MOE's GEO-SEO scales. All newbies probation min 2contracts (total 4-6yr probatn),not all contracts convert to perm- depends job performance.

Hi all.
I'm a current PhD candidate on scholarship from a university in the US. Thinking ahead about coming to SG to work. How much salary can I expect if I go for teaching position at local poly?
By the time I graduate from my program, I'll have 5 years of experience teaching undergrads (both as TA and head TA).
Is 100k p.a. realistic?
