I'm puzzled after reading the thread. There are people complaining that 200k p.a. passive income is insufficient for retirement.

It is quite easy to explain. When you are in a high NW category, you tend to lead a "more expensive" lifestyle and thus your expenses will be higher.
A family living in a HDB flat and who does not own a car will have a far lower household expense than one living in an expensive condo and drives a fancy car. The HDB family is likely to be flying budget airline when on holiday while the high NW guy will fly on full service airlines or even business class. Many of these people would want to maintain this lifestyle. They will strive to build their wealth to generate the passive income they need and complain if they cannot meet it.

200k passive income not enough, what you want?

200k passive barely enough for middle class life, but definitely you need more if you want to retire with better comfort.

Nonsense. $200k is a lot for two retired persons.
Unless you go shopping everyday and eat at high class restaurants everyday.
Like that even $1m pa passive income also not enough.
If your retirement home is paid up, you don't own a car, then you don't need much.
$50k pa is more than enough.

Don't be silly, a 2 week holiday in Europe will easily burn $20k alone.

Don't be stupid. You don't have to go to Europe for holidays.
Just go to neighbouring countries for holidays.
