For a senior accounts exec who don't manage people, $5k is good. Otherwise, how much do you think you are worth?

I really do not know how much i am worth. That's why I am posing the question (my original post) here. I do know that some of my peers are getting between 7k+ to 5-figure sum. Most jobs advertised asked for degree holders with 3 to 5 years of experience, none asked for 15 yrs or more. The occasional rare ones are for Financial Controller, CFO, etc., a different calibre.
If you are an accounting grad, it also does not guarantee that after 15 to 20years, you will automatically be at the top, holding a CFO, FC, etc post. But pay wise, I believe it will be a 5-figure salary.

You could be doing 20+ years of jnr executive job for all we know, that would mean ur co. is overpaying you just because u stayed long enough

Big deal. My friend reviews the work of 2 executives and is team leader, has ACCA level 3 and was only getting 2.4k. She recently jumped ship for a $3k job.
No point comparing with your peers as your job scope and responsibilities are different. In my opinion, your company can easily replace you by offering 3.5k to someone else, as a senior executive position don't need that many years of experience.
If you want to know if you are underpaid, the easiest way is to apply for similar positions in other companies and see how much they offer you. I think you already know the answer.

Well... Complaining is not the answer... and life is not fair.. You are not the only one suffering in a shitty job with low pay.. There are alot of people worst off than you.... So my advice to you is to focus that energy you use for complaining.. and use it for implementing actions that will actually improve your current situation..... Alot of people changed their future for the better by taking charge of their own future instead sliding into depression.... Good luck...
