48/50, $5k and $6k pm respectively. Lives in an old EC bought many years ago, still servicing mortgage. One son and one daughter, both in poly.

Our assets: condo, car, CPF, stocks, cash savings.
Total net worth: $1.2m, including our condo.

How are we doing? How can we plan for retirement at 60?

if your goal was not to stroke egos, you have pretty much facilitated bad behavior and confirmed the poster's "dream".

After so many hundreds and thousands of posts, the ONE important factor which men don't mention here is INHERITANCE. Always compare with a pinch of salt here as no one will mention how much of their assets was inherited.

The only measure that can be "fairly" compared how well one is doing, is to gauge the income level. Assets/cash wise should be viewed with caution..eg. no one will mention how much their parents contributed to their first or second pte property when they bought at "the lowest point" or whether they got their car as a gift (therefore saving 100k over 10 years).

Therefore there's no need to feel upset, depressed, or accuse others of posting fake numbers (though this is a possibility as well) once we remember that most ppl are not completely honest when it comes to their assets.

judging from your use of English you may wanna knock one zero off your "take in"....

and wtf is a premium boy school? schools to prep for being part of a boy band?

jeez man i should really start a mental health institution, alot of potential customers lurking in this forum....
