The Singapore economy grew more than expected in the third quarter, with gross domestic product (GDP) coming in at 1.1 per cent compared to a year ago, according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry ( MTI) on Thursday (Nov 24).
The final year-on-year GDP figure for the July to September period was higher than the advance reading of 0.6 per cent, and exceeded a forecast of 1 per cent by 17 economists in a Reuters survey.
On a quarter-on-quarter, seasonally adjusted annualised basis, the local economy shrank 2 per cent, coming in better than advance estimates of an unexpectedly sharp 4.1 per cent contraction. Economists surveyed by Reuters had expected Singapore’s third-quarter GDP growth to be down 2.5 per cent from the previous three months.

When CNA paints pretty picture means got chance they will use this to justify higher than expected bonuses . fingers crossed.

I think those saying 1.85 might be true.. bcos they include mid year 0.45 + 13th month bonus + 0.4.. so most likely we are getting 0.4 year-end AVC..

Of course this year bonus will be lower than last year. Don't listen to those who said it will be higher than last year. They are in their own world.

Should be thankful for any amount of bonus declared. Some here are realistic in the light of present economic condition while there are others in their dreamland and looking at themselves without thinking of broad picture. Just take a look at our export figures and our STI. Looking ahead we are now struggling. Ability to hang on your jobs is already a blessing.
