DUKE NUS tuition fees are super expensive. I have a feeling that DUKE NUS lecturers are overpaid or the Duke materials are exorbitant. The course should be reviewed before more students borrow money to fund their medical course. However, many medical students from NUS or DUKE NUS do drive BMW/ Mercedes. LOL.

The local grads families are poor.

As you know pedigree is impt.
Why is family wealth an impt factor in the equation as u suggest? Residency spots r competitive. I agree tt pedigree is impt - if your parents r well known doctors then you maybe hv an advantage but if they r not in e medical fraternity its not like they can buy a residency spot for u

btw most YLLSOM grads r quite rich too. 70% are RJC ppl anw

looking at the residency match list, there is always more locals than IMG. so unless he provides some evidence, i find it hard to trust him.

The nus dukies are slightly weaker clinically.
But this is not their fault coz they simply just dont have enough ward experience.

But that being said some times their first degree is useful, for example those with background with physical chem or maths

I was discussing stewart approach to acid and bases to my residents.
Only a duke could understand the equations.

In my field, people like severinghaus who had a prior degree in physics are more inventive.

So go ahead and apply make sure you are good in your original field. And try to see things
