Last time patients are simpler, keen to go out of pocket. So gps loaded with cash. The fat and happy days are over. But bad days do attract the right crowd to be doctors

The longterm aim will be to institute a medical fraternity with 3 essential values:
A life of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Poverty to get affordable labour
Chastity - so less lawsuits, no kids means less incentive to be selfish
Obedience to the authority to make healthcare cost effective and greater good

In korea the docs are striking, as they do not have the 3 essential values of a good doc

Is that what the residents/rps get once they complete mmed? Or have to work many years to get this amount?

Would also like to ask is there any difference between working in the polyclinics of the different clusters (eg. Nuhs vs nhg vs singhealth). Difference in terms of pay, workload, and patient case variety?

For overseas trained Dr, how common do they NOT be granted full registrations after the required period of practice ie. 4 yrs? Anyone had gone through the process who can share? Thanks in advance!

We need more foreign doctors. Need to increase supply and stop the obscene charge rates that patients have to fork out for medical treatments! more FT PLS

Not sure abt pay. But I guess the work culture can differ between each polyclinic even within the same cluster.. (even though the management guidelines are the same..)

Hi can I ask if the pay for hos, mo, reg, rp, associate consultant, consultant difers from each individual batch and each individual?
For example, can they pay you more as an AC/C if for e.g you have more publications?

Similarly, can they cut the pay for mo, reg, RP, AC for subsequent batches if let say the economy is bad or if there is an oversupply of doctors/specialist

In general the salaries are getting better and better in public sector

Last time ho starting pay is 1.8k, now is 4k

Same thing for con. The 2015 pay revision really improved the pay of public sector.
After tax, our healthcare pay ranks one of the best in the world - better than uk.

Generally speaking , one or two minor publication will not affect ur advancement.
Singapore public sector generally is service oriented - meaning how well you manage patients, Volume of patients you see, workflow improvement, cost savings. So that it the core competency. Research is a by the way thing.

That said having more publications in your spare time, 50-100 with good citations, and u will be offered academic positions.
