In any case even if it is 1.5 the sum is paltry. It is not like you can use it to buy a car or house.
Tell Singhealth and NHG to keep their bonus. Spend your time on yourself.

St. John Properties, a commercial real estate firm based out of Baltimore, Maryland, publicly announced a USD $10 million bonus will be paid to all 198 employees to celebrate achieving its goal of developing 20 million square feet of office space.
In a press release, the company said all 198 employees will be paid a bonus solely based on years of service, “with the average employee receiving USD $50,000.”
A video of the surprise announcement showed employees reacting with shock, tears and gratitude as they opened a red envelope containing their bonus amount at the company’s holiday party December 7.
“I was totally blown away when it happened,” one woman said in the video.
This is the way to give out bonus. Everyone should share in it. Not this performance A B nonsense. As if the collective goals and achievements of the organization are not the result of every single employee?
I know how hard or "easy" it is to get an A in MOPEX. You either work your socks off and sacrifice lots of personal time doing all these toilet papers for Profs or have a damn good friendship with the Consultants. Rubbish.

You can't buy a house but you can certainly go for holiday with family if bonus was 1.0😥

With your present salary you cant go for holiday without the 1.0 bonus?
That would be sad.

The irony is that in order to get the A sometimes it means NOT going on holiday.
Simply too much dedication to the work to outshine everyone else.
So what's the use of getting the bonus that would let you go in holiday but in doing so might make you lose out on an A the next cycle?
The A in MOPEX is not worth it.

Can someone explain the private practice situation in SG? Any doctor with some capital can start their own clinic and run their own private practice?

Anyone can be a GP as long as you have an MBBS or MD equivalent. No Family Physician Residency is required to open your own GP practice. Surgeons can be GPs too.

In other words, you just need full registration with SMC. Don’t need family physician/internal med/geriatric residency. No need for Dip M.Med. Letting those overseas docs who have conditional registration know, you can’t do this until you get full registration.

I just reviewed the SMC guidelines to obtain full registration.
The Govt makes it quite difficult for foreign-trained specialists to practice in SG. No wonder so few specialists from more developed countries like Australia/US/Canada, and so many from less developed countries.

Not true. To qualify for specialist in singapore, you need to hold to relevant qualifications from singapore, uk, australia, america or canada, or europe.
Post graduate training from non western country is not recognised. As such there are ZERO specialist doctors from less developed countries who are specialist in singapore.
There are many foreign doctors from less developed countries who are practising in specialist in their home countries but is willing to do non specialist work in singapore is because of money.
Sg pays better
The reason few caucasian specialist from foreign countries is because western country pays better.
So at end of day is $$$.
If we accept specialist qualifications from the world the local docs will complain. But international practice usually is insular and protective
