yes we got a aim specialty. So after 3 years basic internal med residency (get mrcp, ur aussie equivalent is basic physician exam) followed by two years advanced internal med (sorta
Like aussie advanced general and acute care med)
So total 5 years
They are the sai kang warriors of the hosp. All ed admits go to internal medicine, and guess who is the con in charge. These saikang warriors.
Because ed keep on admitting to internal medicine, almost all hospitals mandate that even infectious disease, endocrine, renal, neurology, gastro, some times even cardio cons need to serve in internal med wards.
In other words, subspec need to do at least 0.3 fte inpatient internal med work to help with the aim consultants work.
Pay wise internal medicine is lousier than fam med.
A typical internal med associate con gets 14k inconclusive of allowance.
But a fam med masters (sorta equivalent to ur fracgp) gets 15k per mth.
My advice is to complete fam med training in australia get ur fracgp.
U will be able to earn 15 to 20k sgd at our local polyclinic.

FRACGP is very close to MMED(FM)
Although not the exact same thing but close
Of course MMED(FM) is the best!
Anything remotely FM is also good.
Hope this clarifies

erm amdk. So ccfp two years enuff. Anyway it is not abt the years but quality of training.
Us and canada residencies are shorter.
Less patient load but think more. teach less learn more.
Uk residencies in general longer.
