That's terrible. Better to stay in sg.
If you are only making 10k per month, your average tax rate is closer to 30%. So if you have a 10k salary per month, your take home will be around 7k per month.

The strategy is to live in NZ, get a pr, then return to SG. NZ PR does not expire.
175k is like 14k a month. Not bad

What are work hours like? Weekends? Nights?

How much do NZ doctors earn? What's the tax rate there?

With NZ PR even if you return to sg you have to pay NZ taxes on sg income.

Unless you never plan to return to NZ.

300k salary (175k after tax) is for Monday to Friday, 8-5pm.

No weekends, evenings or overnight calls.

This is for Canada? How many patients do they see in a day 8 to 5pm?

Yes this is for Family Physicians in Canada.

It depends on the type of payment model (Fee-For-Service vs. Roster/Capitation).

For FFS, average 6 patient/hour, so ~48 patients from 8-5pm. Physicians usually encourage 1 issue per visit.

For Rostered/Capitation, average 4 patients/hour, so ~32 patients from 8-5pm. Physicians will allow multiple issues per visit to minimize the number of return visits.

How much does FFS pay for each patient visit? Is this for British Columbia?

For Roster/Capitation how are the doctors paid?

Was wondering which is a better choice in terms of demand, career progression/job opportunities and work/life balance in the long run?
Both are saturated and have limited job prospects. No such thing as work life balance in Singapore.

Average FFS visit is ~$33/visit in BC and Ontario.

In Capitation model, physicians are paid by the number of patients that they enroll onto their roster. The physician is paid a certain amount per month that the patient remains on their roster (fee varies according to age and co-morbidities). However, if that same patient visits another family MD (e.g. walk in clinic), then the cost of that visit (e.g. $33) gets deducted from your capitation. Hence there is incentive for the physician to make themself available for the patient and trying to keep their patients as healthy as possible.

There are also bonus incentives for meeting certain metrics (e.g. % of patients who received age-appropriate cancer screening, vaccinations etc) which can add up to several tens of thousands per annum.
