OP here. But back to the query. Should I be looking at lowest 7k?

Think 7k is fair since you are 1PQE. 7k is what they pay their NQ.
don't understand the hate towards TSMP. Most of their assocs are from the local unis.

Lol i dont think anyone is hatin' so much as just feeling incredulous

Fervent and firms of similar tier, shows the stark realities of what it's like practising at the lower end of the legal industry's value chain i.e. the small firm and 'Chinatown' shops.

At this tier, the quality of the lawyers and law practices vary wildly, from hardworking good competent practitioners at affordable price points for the common man, to incompetent practitioners way out of their depth, or just plain lazy, or even worse regularly in breach of professional ethical rules.

My advice to juniors who read this is - practising at the lower end of the profession is brutal. If all you can get are jobs in small and mid-sized firms, try your best to move up the chain ASAP. If you've tried reasonably hard and after some time still find yourself stuck in these small firms, you should seriously reconsider remaining in law. You can get far better compensation, work-life-balance and fulfilment in other industries, for the same amount of effort you put into practice.

I find your portrayal of Fervent Chambers Llc offensive. Far from dealing with work at the low end of the value chain, we specialise in complex, high value disputes at the cutting edge of legal work, with claims in excess of US$100m. We have been ranked by ALB alongside prominent firms like Providence Law Chambers, LVMH, just to name a few. In time to come, we will be listed in Legal500 and Chamber&partners.

Then what about in-house in the banks? 2PQE here with some corp liti experience in small/Med firm. Would it be the time to jump? Never mind in a big firm before. Just like a 10-15 person one at the largest

Even in big law firm, life is very brutal the hours and compensation is not even fair.
Things like billables, chasing payments from clients and toxicity of practice.

I am 3PQE litigation in Big 4 - what should I be expecting for inhouse move? Any recommendations for litigation / disputes background lawyer?

Which industry is good for inhouse ?

I just want a stable salary to take care of family, good job security, one that allows me to enjoy work, go on leave and have a normal life without any stress and need to churn monies for partners' new watch, car, house.
