Lol all I’m going to say is that I’m in B4 disputes, laterally hired slightly more than year ago. During my interview, the partner asked me if I have a significant other and have immediate plans in the next 3 years to settle down.

No chance at all
Frankly the people who get first, they worked hard for it. They deserve all the trappings of success that comes with it. Like a previous poster said, if you’re 2:2, you don’t deserve to compete with someone who is a first class.

Nobody's saying anything about just throwing precedents at clients or doing copy-and-paste jobs. That's a strawman argument and probably to hide ur own insecurity at what you do. It's not THAT cutting edge dude. Lets not kid ourselves

To follow your point that litigators r just do the same thing that is taught in law school, think of it this way using an SAF analogy:

A Commando can be said to be doing what is an advanced continuation of BMT infantry fieldcraft, but everyone would agree that a Commando is a far superior and cutting edge soldier. In this context, a top tier litigator = Commando. Law school = BMT. Transactional lawyers = signals or combat engineering or some technical other non-infantry type vocation.
How about you stop wanking over supposed prestige and just do what you want to do and you’re good at?

Prestige doesn’t pay the bills.

Btw international firms are those that pay international rates.

In Sg, that means baker onwards.
Not big 5, or firms with an international JV partner but you are being paid SG rates

Yep. You're in NUS right? I graduated in the past 3 years, had a 4.25 - 4.30 CAP and got FCH. The curve is very harsh.

Apparently more common than realised. Doesn't help that it's perpetuated by our peers. Got friends who ended r/s to work for the big boys. Tangentially related to ongoing posts - face/prestige/etc very important for Singaporeans. Not helped by high cost of living. Bigger countries with more socioeconomic latitude, at least still got possibility to say you are in law for justice, fight for oppressed, pro bono work, etc.

Back on topic. I dunno about getting pregnant though but I imagine walking into Court in your 3rd trimester increases the chances of you winning by 200%. Never encountered that before but I'm not sure I can go guns blazing on heavily pregnant learned friend.
