"Never encountered that before but I'm not sure I can go guns blazing on heavily pregnant learned friend." hahaha never thought of this situation before but fair point.

Yes when you say you single or just break up and not intending to date anymore, they somehow say very good.

So are you in a big 5? Lmao.
You do know that baker filters all their new hires.
Without a first (or connections), you’re never going to get there.

Lol what does that even mean?? Is this some baker worship I'm reading? Nobody who knows the market wants to train and start at baker. WP and A&G corp is far more reputable and offers way better exit options (and don't even get me started on liti, there's no way to even begin comparing baker for that) - the starting salary may be lower but you will easily outstrip baker once you make that first jump 1.5 years in.
Moral of the story: don't get blinded by the slightly higher starting salary and miss the woods for the tree. when you're a junior assoc, training and brand name is key

Baker was the place to be in my time.
The starting pay was the highest.
Back when CC didn’t take in Sg trainees, baker was the go to place.
Everyone in the b4 looked in awe when they saw a baker trainee then assoc.
You throw a stone everyone in that batch was a first except for a small minority.
There was an unspoken rule that you do not need to ask a fellow trainee for degree classification
