Should i be worried that my billings have been absolutely horrendous this month (2nd to 3rd month of employment)? Some days i bill 2 hours. Today i have yet to bill a single hour. lol
I have already told my partner/s that i can take on more files, but none have yet to come. Should i take it easy for now or keep asking for more work?

I'd be very upset if my Big4 lawyer billed me for time spent on this "detail"

It really depends on your firm dynamics. Team based or pool system? What's the rapport with the partners? Are you allowed to solicit work from outside your team or de facto team? Is being proactive encouraged or dismissed as wayang?
If you trained with the firm, ur position is probably more secure as you prob already have a cachet of trust with the bosses for them to want to retain u in the first place. If you're a lateral hire you're a bit on shaky ground in this climate. You have to be shameless in soliciting for work esp with WFH. Out of sight means out of mind, and the partners will trim the low profile assoc first if they need to cut people

If you can’t even get something so basic as opposing counsel’s name right, you don’t exactly engender much confidence in negotiating the minutiae of a contract. That’s the difference between a Chinatown lawyer and one in a Big 4/international firm - we make sure things are right whether it’s billable or not.
