Think about it from HR or the hiring partner's perspective. If I am looking to hire 2 trainees, I probably will want to interview 8-10 people for the 2 roles. So I will shortlist the best 8-10 candidates out of all the people who applied.
Generally, this also means that the whole discussion of "what kind of grades will get me into which firm" serves as just a very general guideline. Just as with exams in SG law schools, it is on a curve i.e. it depends on the pool of applicants.

Yup. Depends on how highly ranked the team is as well. Certain B4 teams only take in fch/strong 2:1.

LOL. I'm more curious as to how employers view SMU magna/cum laude vs NUS 2:1 given that's what the bulk of the cohort receives.
